MASTER OF ARTS PROGRAMS
The M. Wilhelmina Boldt Interior Design Program offers two tracks leading to a Master of Arts in Interior Design: Track One, a post-professional degree for those with an undergraduate degree in Interior Design or a closely related field, and Track Two, a first-professional degree for those with a baccalaureate degree not in Interior Design or closely related field.
Track One: Post-Professional Degree Requirements
This is a 36-credit program. Students may have to complete undergraduate prerequisites in areas where they lack coursework. Students with undergraduate credit in any of the following courses may not repeat them for graduate credit.

Additional courses are available in other areas of the graduate curricula including Business Administration, Human Resources, Humanities, and Psychology. Approval must be received prior to registration.
Requirements for the Master of Arts in Interior Design must be completed within five years of initial registration unless extenuating circumstances exist and an extension is authorized by the dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.

Track Two: First-Professional Degree Requirements
For admission to this program, students must provide a completed application, transcripts of all undergraduate work, two letters of recommendation, and acceptable GRE scores. Once admitted, to continue progress toward the degree, candidate must complete 21 credits of Interior Design foundation courses, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and pass a portfolio review of foundation work by the Interior Design faculty. Admission is selective. Students who are not admitted can complete the Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design.
Requirements for the Master of Arts in Interior Design must be completed within five years of initial registration unless extenuating circumstances exist and an extension is authorized by the dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
Fifty-one (51) graduate credit hours are required for the degree.

Portfolio Reviews
To maintain progress toward degree completion, Track Two candidates must submit a portfolio of work from the Interior Design foundation or undergraduate coursework. The ID faculty review portfolios in March and July. A list of work to be submitted and requirements are available in the department. Work should show graduate-level skill and abilities as well as potential for graduate-level development.
