PhD in Landscape Architecture
Category
Landscape
Description:
The Department of Landscape is a major research centre for landscape and environmental planning and design. The international standing of the Department was recognised in the award of a grade 5 in the last UK Government Research Assessment Exercise (the highest grade of any landscape school in Britain). The Department has a thriving research school with 20 home and overseas graduate research students currently registered for higher degrees.
Research undertaken by individual staff covers a diversity of areas, as one would expect from a department whose strength lies in interdisciplinary working that cuts across traditional academic boundaries. To give these individual research strands coherence, research is organised around three "Themes" or "Groups" that are shared with the School of Architecture. This contributes to developing a sense of critical research mass and further encourages collaboration.
Further information and details of current projects can be found at individual staff pages.
